When we try to control it is because we don't trust our ability to live through the inevitable pain of life. Most of us don't see how controlling we are. We say we are uptight or careful, but not controlling of ourselves or how people respond to us. As we worry about a loved one's behavior or safety, we may not realize that hovering over them is controlling. We see other people's controlling behavior with us, but may not be aware that monitoring them and trying to change them is also controlling.
What a victorious moment of trusting God it is to risk living through the pain.......not seeking escape or quick fixes but being patient with the process.
We can let go of control - turning it over to our Higher Power, Jesus Christ, again and again until more and more we will forget to take it back again.
