DROP IN!

Had a great visit with a friend the other day!  She just dropped in to bring me something and we plopped ourselves onto the swing and didn't move again for a couple of hours.  So glad she came by and we could take the time to 'catch up' on the 'doings' in our lives and even talk about deeper things.  Not just about 'who, what, where, and when' but also the 'why' and the 'how' we feel about the 'doings' in our lives.

Makes me think of how we can just 'drop in' on God any time and He's always ready to just sit down and 'catch up' on life with us.  He wants to hear about the 'who, what, where, and when', as well as the 'why' and 'how' we're feeling.  Thinking about it that way makes devotions or quiet time, or however you term it, sound very inviting and restful, and not just a rote exercise that we 'have to' do each day.

So, don't think about having 'devotions' when the time comes around for it..........think about 'dropping in' on God and 'catching up' on what you've been doing, are planning to do, with who, when you plan to, and also why you are doing it and how you feel about it............things like that!  Just make it a time of 'hanging' with a friend and you'll be surprised at how the time will go and you won't have had time to say all you wanted to tell Him.

I got up early enough this morning to spend quality quiet time with Jesus. I could feel the quiet in my soul and the calm filling my spirit. What a blessing this was. "Thank You Jesus, for the time we had together. Love Christine."

More and more I love the passage in Hebrews, about coming boldly before His throne of grace to receive mercy and help in time of need.
Wonderful place not just to drop in but linger! :)

I must remember that being with God is like being with a friend and I don't have to worry about what I say to Him. He is the best friend I could ever have and yet He seems to get less of my time then anyone else. God forgive me and help me to give you quality time like You deserve. Amen.
