FOOT WASHING

Interesting!  Today I was in my own church in the morning and a different one in the evening.  One pastor spoke on 'foot washing' and the other on 'humility'.  Did I feel like God was trying to tell me something?   :)  What I took away from these messages was, "Jesus said, 'Love as I have loved you."  And how was that?  Joyfully, forgivingly, without agenda, considering the needs of others,  generously, with thanksgiving not greedily, unconditionally, lovingly, humbly, whole-heartedly, sacrificially, not for self-glorification or personal gain or even for results!  That was a bit of a mash-up but I think it all blends to simply say this, wash others feet in the same way that ours have been washed by Christ!

When I was in the Anglican church, foot washing was left to the job of the deacon, which was me. It was a beautiful service and a very humbling act.
