When we get overwhelmed with the negativity and wrong around us, it is tempting to declare war on it. But Jesus offered us a better way! Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good!
Fighting against the darkness in a dark room, is futile because you can't make the darkness light. Light a candle, however, and 'poof' it is gone in an instant.
Similarly, when the light of truth is shed on a situation, fear and conflict dissolve. When you pray for another person or take constructive action in a situation, good is accomplished.
The purpose of our life is to reflect the light of Jesus into places that are dark, thereby bringing glory to God. Let your light shine and stay focused on the power of love. When enough of us light our candles, we make the situation brighter and God is glorified.
