GOT THE POWER?

"For I am utterly helpless, without any hope"  Job 6:13

Ever feel like Job...........utterly helpless and without hope?  Maybe its because of a hurt you have experienced or a habit you can't overcome.  Maybe you just feel hung-up on a situation in your life and you can't 'think' or 'maneuver' your way out of it.  Well........join the club!  We all have one or all of those going at any given time in our lives.  I sure do!

What to do?  What to do?

There is One with all power who can help us but first we have to admit we aren't 'the power' in our own lives.  Getting powerless isn't something you wake up one morning and decide you are going to do that day.  I think of it more like the air going out of a balloon.  Sometimes it goes out in a slow leak.............other times it just rushes out with a lot of noise, flying all over the place.  But once it is empty it can be filled up again.

When we are absolutely empty..............that's the time when God fills us up with HIS power to overcome those hurts, habits and hang-ups that we are unable to fix in our own limited and inadequate power and wisdom..............and all glory will go to Him!

"Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.."  Ephesians 3:20

Yes, there was a time in my life that I felt utterly helpless and without hope. I still have those times, but they are getting to be fewer and farther between. God is showing me in so many ways that He is on my side.

Yes, there was and still is in my life a feeling of helplessness and hopelessness. Praying that as I have some time off work, and rest and study God's word that this will get better. Amen.

Thank You God, for filling me up with Your power. I would have no power that would work for me, except I have Yours. You see my need and answer my call to help me. Thank You so much.

I am powerless over codependency and it makes my life unmanageable. Admitting this is my first step to being power filled. How I need to have the power that comes from God to be able to overcome my codependency and live a victorious life.

These days I am thinking about my compulsive eating disorder and what can I do about it? the same answer confronts me at the end of every day. "Nothing" But that does not mean nothing at all can be done about it. This is where the glorifying God part comes in. What I cannot do for myself, God, through Jesus Christ. is able to do. That verse rings through so true. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

It is a daily process I must remember to go through to get powerless and stay that way so God can fill me up with His power and help me with what my hang-up is. I am getting better to remember when I sit down to a plate of food to pray '"I am powerless to not eat compulsively" Amen.

That is an exciting thought that God can do in me infinitely more than I could ever hope or imagine. How I need that hope placed within my heart on a daily basis. I so do not have the power on my own to do anything that will last in my own effort as far as staying away from compulsive overeating is concerned. There is hope! Thank You Heavenly Father. Amen.
