My first feeling was of incredible joy as I envisioned her jogging down the streets of gold calling out, "Maurice, I'm here Maurice!" Maurice is my dad who has been in heaven for a few years now. Then I imagined them continuing to walk hand in hand, laughing and chatting together, their faces filled with peace and joy and love. Yes, I am sad and there are, and will be, tears but I'm glad mom is free of the sin, pain and hurt of this old world.
Didn't get much sleep after that and at 7:00 am we were on the road with Jennifer and Lydia arriving at the St. John Hospital just before 10:00. After checking in, it was a whirlwind day of activity to prepare Alex for his heart surgery tomorrow. And now to sleep and be back there for 9:00 am to be with him until the surgery that will happen at 1 or 2 o'clock. Thank you dear friends Tammy and Steve for the gracious hospitality in your home while we're here and thank you to all who have offered loving support. God bless you all for much needed prayer for these days of trial...........the Lord is giving us the peace you are asking Him for!
Thank you Father for the wonderful staff that attended us today and will be surrounding us tomorrow. Especially for the surgeon Dr. Craig Brown. Guide his hands and mind as he does 3 by-passes in Alex' heart. Thank you also for our dear friends and family who are holding us before Your throne of grace for the help we need at this time. And once again, in our lives right now, may we be free of any 'heart' trouble that would come from not trusting You...........because Jesus said, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me." John 14:1 Amen!
