![]() “Come now, and let us reason together,” says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” (Is 1:18 NKJV) Thought I would try to put a positive face on our many 'snow dumps' and talk about one of God’s amazing creations…snowflakes. During the early part of the 20th century a man by the name of Wilson Bentley developed a camera capable of photographing individual flakes. During his life time he photographed over 5,000 and declared that no two are alike. Why is that so surprising when we look around and see that there are no two people alike either………. each one is a work of art………..created by our wonderful Maker! I have read that during Bible times the colors crimson and scarlet were made from a worm that lived in that region. It has been said that the stain developed from this worm’s body was so potent that once it penetrated into a piece of fabric, nothing could remove it. | Did the Lord have this in mind when He moved Isaiah to write – ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.’ Sin may be like a permanent dye on your soul but God can make you clean! In the comments below, offer a short prayer of gratitude for ‘snow’……that is for your sins being made as white as' and maybe for the stuff that is coming tomorrow too! :) |

Heavenly Father, Thank You that You have washed me as white as snow and cleansed me from the sin that at one time was as red as crimson. How thankful I am for this and give You all the praise and glory for it. Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank You that the freshly fallen snow reflects Your glory, beauty and amazing creativity, and reminds me of Your mercy and grace to wash me clean from sin. Thank You for the wonder of it all! Thank You also for the exercise I get in shovelling snow, and possibly even a "snow day" off work :) :) And even if that last one doesn't happen, thank You anyway! Amen

That first snowfall reminds me of what this verse is saying. It is so fresh and clean before we muck it up. That's the way I was before Jesus came in and washed me clean from the inside. Thank you Jesus, that all my sins have been covered, even the ones that I have committed this day. Amen
