LET US PRAY !     "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen"  Matthew 6:9-13

So good to be able to call Him our Father...........even though He is the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe.........God in Heaven!   And yet, I admit that when I'm in prayer I have to 'consciously' place myself in my mind as His cherished child.  God's word tells me that 'unless I become as a little child, I cannot see the Kingdom of God'.  MATTHEW 18:13

As a young believer, I found it difficult to experience God as my Father and to feel close to Him. It did not come natural to me, as my dear dad, whom I loved dearly and who is now with Our Father in Heaven, was unable to model God's love to me in my childhood.  What I have learned about a loving, giving, protecting, providing, father-type came from years of study in God's Word and in relationship with Him.  As well, there have been a few Christian men who have been 'Father God' to me 'with skin on' so to speak as they have modeled godly fatherly characteristics in my relationship with them.

WOW!  Hope that wasn't too 'out there' for you all but maybe it will help you if you struggle with the 'Father' side of your relationship with God as well.

I've shared with you, now maybe you would like to share your experience of God as 'Father'. with me.  While you are thinking listen to this beautiful rendition of 'The Lord's Prayer' in Hebrew.  Maybe you will get inspired!

Wonderful song. I really love Hebrew worship music!
Personally my biggest struggles have not been with my "father" issues but another significant family member whom I often felt controlled by. I recognize the importance of praying more for this person and this has been difficult to do deeply from the heart (beyond the superficial type of prayers that God bless this person and give them a good day). Just today I have begun to see that fervent prayer for this person is one way to not be "controlled" by her any more. It is part of my walk to/in freedom. This makes me feel more enthusiastic about praying for her - and the Lord's prayer is a good model for praying for her (and for others).

What a beautiful song. Today at Bible study it was all about the love of God and what that means for us. As I lay that over the idea that God my Father loves me that way, I am overwhelmed and want to just stop and worship God for His love for me.
