HA HA! This was just before they came to get Alex for surgery. He'd had his Ativan........or Ativil as he called it after it started to take affect and relax him :) and you should have seen the cute little dance he did with me and the nurse on the way to the stretcher. Thought I would make sure the oxygen mask was working okay and get a little shot for good measure!
After the fun and games were over it was the hard work of 'sitting and waiting'! Surgery was finished a little ahead of schedule (3 1/2 hours) and Dr Brown informed us he felt it went very well and no sign of stroking during it. When I left the hospital tonight Alex still wasn't awake yet but not to worry they said, since the man who went in before him still hadn't 'come to' yet either!
Tomorrow will make up for today's 'sitting around doing nothing' as I begin with a time of being taught how to run the 'clinic in a box' that they are sending home with us and they have assured me it will just get busier as the day goes on.
My kids have been amazing support............Jennifer by my side being my second set of ears and keeping my memory straight and Greg calling and fbing from Bolivia and wishing with all HIS heart he could be by our sides. AND people dropping in and fbing and praying and just SO MUCH LOVE! Thank you one and all for blessing our 'hearts' in so many ways! We love you!
Thank you for the love and support and assurances of prayer for me as well at this time of my dear mom's home going. The picture below says it well for me. Will talk some more friends.........must get some sleep!
