OOPS! DON'T FALL!

Why don't I give you a little update on how Alex is doing?

Strength is being gained daily..........slowly but surely!  And with that comes the temptation to do more.  And so Judy is having to be the 'bad cop' which is not always appreciated shall we say!

But isn't that just the way we all are..........really???  We find ourselves dependent on the Lord...........neeeeeeedy and making promises like, 'Just help me get through this Lord..........I'll do anything You say!'  We are listening closely to His instructions and following them to a 't' keeping our eyes focused solely on Him, moment by moment, because of our painful circumstances.  That is until we start to make a little progress and aren't quite so neeeeedy anymore of His help and strength.

But our verse today is a great reminder to keep relying on the Lord at ALL times.......not just in the difficult times.............because we may find ourselves flat on our faces if we don't.

"Don’t be so naive and self-confident. You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence."  1 Corinthian 10:12
  MSG

Now!  Just to set the record straight, Alex is being a very good patient but because he is doing SO WELL he can forget himself and reach out to do something that would not be conducive to keeping that breastbone in place so it can heal properly.  We would sincerely ask you to continue to pray for him and for us!  Thank you faithful friends.

I like that particular translation of 1 Corinthians 10:12; it's quite down-to-earth and extra easy to grasp. This week I am also becoming aware of how much I need Him more than I realized; how easily I can fall flat on my face if not for trusting His grace. Blessings and prayers for you and Alex :)

What a blessing to continue to pray for you both. I understand about the needy part. I call out when I am needy but will often take it back when things straighten out. Thank You Lord for reminding me to always depend on You, no matter the circumstances I find myself in, whether good or bad.
