SPECKS & LOGS!

Matthew 7:3 "Why worry about a speck in your friends eye when you have a log in your own?"

What do I observe in this little verse of scripture?  For me, it embodies the whole teaching on Boundaries.  Taking ownership for only what is mine and if I don't 'own' it, I shouldn't try to 'rule' it!   I have enough to take care of in my own life (logs) without trying to correct problems (specks) in my friends life.

Lord, help me remember to find the boundary today between what is mine to be concerned about and what is not mine. Also, Lord, keep me focused on YOU as the authority and power in my life and my friends (and families) lives to deal with our respective specks and logs. Amen  OH YES!  By the way!  I love you!

I catch myself picking at the speck in other peoples eyes when the log is so large in my own. It's at those times I remind myself that I have never walked a mile in their shoes so mind my own business and let them mind theirs. I like the concept of boundaries. Keep my boundaries intact and let others set their own.
