THE LAWN 'HAS TO' BE MOWED.......OR DOES IT!

My friend Heidi had this post on her blog and I smiled when I saw it........since the topic is quite relevant to us right now!  She has graciously allowed me to post it here.  Check out Heidi's Blog 'JOY IN THE MORNING'
and enjoy your lawn mowing!  :)

This morning I observed how long the grass is getting again.  I had just mowed it on the weekend!  Now I will have to mow it again.... or do I? haha.  At times I've felt stressful, knowing the grass needs to be mowed before it gets too long (or else it will be virtually unmowable!!)  and especially before any forecasted prolonged periods of rain....  Just lately I've been seeing it a bit differently though. It  helps that I have a battery-powered mower now, which is not so loud, so I can still hear the birds singing when I mow, and there are no unpleasant gas fumes, so therefore mowing is truly more fun than before.   That's certainly a plus.   I've also been thinking about the fact that I can be grateful that I have a healthy body that is able to mow the lawn and even the part of my hill which is still grass!  I can be grateful that I even have a yard of my own to mow, in a relatively beautiful area, so near a lake.   So perhaps I can see lawn-mowing as something I "get to " do...  I "get to" be outside breathing in the fresh air, getting good exercise, hearing the birds sing and smelling the spring flowers while I cut my grass....Not only that, but I really don't "have to " do it.   I certainly could hire someone to do it.  Just knowing I have that freedom makes me actually feel even happier about continuing to do it!   With all these new perspectives, I intend to enjoy and be thankful for being able to mow  my grass whenever it needs a haircut :)

Lawn mowing can be such a chore. I remember the days I had to do it. for myself. The big thing about it was the satisfaction of a nice looking lawn when I was done.
